Additional Restrictions Grant

Set to end: Application windows vary depending on your local councils so please be sure to check this before applying.

With the aim to support businesses that are not covered by other grant schemes or where additional funding is needed, the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) provides local councils with funding that they then give to businesses that are severely impacted by restrictions.

Local councils can determine which businesses to support and determine the amount of funding provided from the ARG scheme.

Local councils are determining the eligibility criteria for these grants, but HMRC have expressed that the grants should be used for those businesses that are severely impacted by the restrictions.

There are, however, clear exclusions from the fund.

You cannot get funding if:

  • Your business is in administration, insolvent or has been struck off the Companies House register
  • You have exceeded the permitted subsidy allowance
